Go Eco with your stuffed animals!

Hey, it looks like you are new here! I like new visitors. Hopefully you like it here and subscribe RSS feed Thanks for visiting!

My son has way too many stuffed animals and he doesn’t even play with. They drive me crazy but what do I do with them? This week I have the solution and one lucky newsletter subscriber will win a green or pink animal bag from Boon, Inc. You can recycle the stuffed animals by using them to make a soft cushy seat for your little sweetie. Not only are you reusing the stuffed animals but you’re not having to buy a bean bag chair with toxic fillers. How cool is that?

Subscribe to the newsletter for a chance to win! If you’re already subscribed then sweet, you might randomly be picked. It couldn’t get any easier. One winner will randomly be drawn on Tuesday, August 12, 2008.

Contest Has Ended. A winner has been randomly drawn and notified.

this would be the coolest. thanks for that idea! we have 4 of the huge size rubbermaids all stuffed with stuffed animals. it drives my dh crazy but dd plays with them all the time, not all at once of course. she has different animal themes everyday. it’s pretty interesting the imagination on this girl. i wasn’t paying attn cuz i was so excited by this that i subscribed to the newsletter, i thought i was entering the giveaway. i already get the newsletter, can’t imagine not having it……i love all you mamas and your articles.thanks so much!

I ‘recycled’ some of my small stuffed animals by giving them to my dog to play with. I had a few small stuffed animals that my husband gave me while we were dating. They were lint collectors but I knew he wouldn’t be thrilled if I gave them to charity (besides used stuffed animals don’t sell in the charity shops.) Then we got our rescue dog and the boy needed toys. I got the nod from my husband to pass the toys done to the fur kid. Before I gave the dog his “new toys” I pet-proofed them, buy removing any ribbons, embroidery, google eyes, that could harm my dog if he chewed them off of the toy and swallowd them.

  63. 63 Sheri R Says:

What a great idea! Another wonderful idea is to first take the ones that are in really good condition and put them in the dryer on high heat for a few minutes. This helps “kill” unknown things which might be there. If they’re washable, all the better. Second, look into donating them to either the children’s ward of your area hospital, or any number of worthwhile organizations which help children. They are always looking for donations of items in good condition. I found it’s a wonderful way for your child to get involved, too. Have them help pick out what another needy child might like. Especially nice before Christmans/Hannukah.
